2013-05-16 The Hound was a digital synthesizer module with analog filters (VCF) developed in the late nineties by the Dutch company Cirko Electronics. Although it received good reviews when released, only 20 units were ever produced. It had a special "fatness" parameter that gave the sound more meat when applying a lot of resonance, 4-outputs and was 16-part multitimbral. Thanks to Eric van den Berk for making these samples!

2013-04-13 The MusikMesse in Frankfurt was great fun with lots of people checking out the new Nord Lead 4 and Nord Drum 2! On our stage the amazing Federico Solazzo and drummer Satindra Kalpoe are performed live shows with the Lead 4, Nord Drum 2 and Nord Pad, and Lars Peter presented the Nord Piano 2 HP. We were also so lucky to have norwegian producer Jon-Eirik Boska improvise some really wild live sets using only the Nord Drum 2 and our Nord Beat iPad app!

2012-09-28 The new Nord Electro 4 SW73 has twice the memory capacity of its acclaimed predecessor, Nord Electro 3 SeventyThree, letting you fit more sounds from our unique Nord Piano and Sample Libraries.The Organ section has been upgraded to the latest Tone Wheel engine from our dual manual organ Nord C2D, including a new 122 Rotary speaker simulation and Drive.

The Nord Electro 4 SW73 completes the new Electro 4 family, joining the Nord Electro 4 HP and Nord Electro 4D SW61, introduced earlier in 2012.

Shipping starts in December 2012 and in January 2013 for Canada / US.

Extensive update for all Nord Stage 2 users!

2012-11-21 The Nord Stage 2 OS v1.70 update addresses some bugs and includes a significant improvement in the performance of piano engine - we have adjusted the behavior that occurs when String Resonance is active on acoustic pianos and the sustain pedal is used. Thanks to Stephen that helped us out with this.

Other fixes include a case where Dual KB mode did not work properly when Global and Dual MIDI channel was set to the same value. From this version on, when sections are set to identical MIDI channels they will be marked with an asterisk in the MIDI Menu. MIDI Controller 7 was not received properly in the previous version, and a Gain feature for the Swell- and Control Pedal inputs have been added in the System menu to compensate for pedals with a lower output than expected.

The update is recommended for all Nord Stage 2 owners.

Brilliant Sound Bank for the Nord Wave added

2012-10-29French professional Sound Designer Richard Courtel has created this amazing library with no less than 256 brilliant Nord Wave patches, including samples. Then he decided to make it available to all Nord Wave users for free! The programs range from glitchy pads, crunchy basses, glimmering leads, choirs and crazy effects. Richard has also recreated classic sounds from a number of sample based keyboards from the eighties and nineties. A big super-duper Thank You to Richard for letting us share his patches with the world!

Nord Electro 4 HP Sample Library bug solved

2012-10-29 OS v1.12 fixes an issue that prevented Electro 4 HP users to add more than 49 samples to the sample partition.

New in the Nord Sample Library!

2012-10-15 The latest addition in the Nord Sample Library is the Hohner Pianet, was one of most popular electric keyboards in the 60's and has an instantly recognizable sound that blended well with electric guitars without drowning. The Pianet used accordion reeds that were plucked with adhesive pads and was slightly velocity sensitive but like the Clavinet it did not feature a sustain mechanism. Due to a construction flaw, the Pianets generally didn't age very well due to materials that dissolved with age - and decent replacement parts were hard to come by.

This particular instrument is a "Pianet N" model (introduced 1965) and has been restored to its original condition by Australian enthusiast David Robertson. Thanks to David and Barry Carson for all the time they've put into making these samples possible!

Some famous Pianet users include: The Zombies, The Kingsmen, Bryan Ferry and The Beatles.

Brand new retro sounds available!

2012-10-09 The latest additions to the Nord Sample Library are instruments that never fully made it into the traditional Hall of Fame of keyboards. In the organ section we've added two versions of the charming and slightly cheesy sounding single manual Philicorda GM751 and GM753 transistor organs, and the sample sets cover almost every available setting on the original panels.

In the synth section we've added two exotic Italian analog synths that once upon a time set out to emulate the sounds of the symphony orchestra - a species of synths often classified as "String Machines". The Farfisa Polychrome is an extremely rare instrument from a company most famous for their legendary transistor organs and can produce very distinct sounding pad sounds and haunting choirs. The Godwin Symphony is almost equally rare and does some great 70's string and organ sounds.
